Our Current Projects

At Foundation Tamar, we believe that when women and girls thrive, a whole nation thrives. Investing in the lives and the futures of our beneficiaries is a major factor for us.

Through our initiative – Women of The Congo, we have recently teamed up with Poverty-Alleviation nonprofit – Action Nehemiah to train girls and women in IT as well as to teach them English.

The length of our IT program varies between 6-12 weeks depending on each person’s level of knowledge upon arrival. A compulsory short assessment will determine this.

Being that the D.R. Congo’s official language is French, English is not commonly spoken in the country (7%). Our 6 week English program will enable beneficiaries to learn the fundamental basics of English.

The Tamar Choir – “Healing the world, one performance at a time”.

Expressiveness, particularly through singing allows us to communicate on the emotional level. We’ve seen it bring forth breakthroughs of healing and joy in the lives of survivors over the years.

In 2022 we established The Tamar Choir. An all-female choir gathering girls from ages 11 to women aged 70 who are rapidly making a name for themselves within the city of Kinshasa – with a mission to create an atmosphere of love and healing at their performances.
